How I Met Your Mother sequel series How I Met Your Father finally has a premiere date for the UK.

The comedy series, which stars Hilary Duff and Kim Cattrall, will be coming to Disney+ on Wednesday, March 9. The show premiered last week in the United States with two episodes in one go, and Digital Spy have reached out to Disney to check if the UK is following suit.

We've seen the first four episodes already, and we're of the opinion that it feels a bit too familiar – with episode four feeling like a version of HIMYM's second episode – rather than doing its own thing.

Having said that, the group have good chemistry and "Hilary Duff, as always, is the perfectly charming, if somewhat naive, leading lady looking for the love of her life. She's a perfect casting choice for an audience that has essentially watched her grow into adulthood on screen.

"With a few key tweaks, How I Met Your Father could be considered in some ways the Lizzie McGuire reboot that never quite got off the ground."

The series also introduces the titular Father in the first episode, which is great, although they obviously don't tell you who it is.

We've also made a list of all the references and crossovers with the original sitcom from the episodes we've seen, and you can check them out right here.

This isn't the only comedy revival currently airing, as Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That... has aired eight episodes at the time of the writing, famously not including Kim Cattrall.

The actress is noted to have has a feud with Sarah Jessica-Parker, and recently liked a tweet that called And Just Like That... "trashy".

How I Met Your Father airs on Hulu in the US, and will come to the UK on March 9.
