Meteor Streaks Above Larvik, Lighting Up Night Sky

A meteor streaked through the night sky above Norway in the early hours of July 25, according to local reports.

The Norwegian Meteor Network reported the phenomenon tracking above eastern Norway at around 1am local time.

A local astronomy group in Vestfold, who monitor the skies for large meteors, captured the meteor shooting through the sky on Sunday. They said it would take some time to calibrate the exact location of the meteor due to “bright summer nights” and “few visible stars.”

According to local media, the meteor’s powerful flash was seen across eastern Norway. Credit: Deep Sky Exploration via Storyful
