Meth, fentanyl, heroin seized after traffic stop in Richmond; Suspects arrested

A man and woman were arrested for possessing and dealing narcotics in Richmond, Indiana Sunday midnight.

A state trooper with the Indiana State Police was patrolling the city near North A Street and North 12th Street at approximately 12 a.m. when they noticed a vehicle turn down an alley with an equipment violation, prompting a traffic stop on the vehicle, a spokesperson for the agency said.

The state trooper spoke to Krystina A. Morris, the driver, and Gregory J. Dobbs, the passenger. During the conversation, the state trooper noticed “indicators of criminal activity and requested the assistance of a K-9 unit,” the spokesperson said.

A Richmond officer arrived at the scene to provide assistance with his K-9 unit. The K-9 unit alerted authorities of potential illicit compounds within the vehicle, prompting a search.

During the search, around 67.7 grams of methamphetamine, seven grams of fentanyl, two grams of heroin, $941, and drug paraphernalia were located and confiscated.

Gregory Dobbs also had an active warrant through Wayne County for dealing methamphetamine.

The two were arrested and transported to the Wayne County jail.

  • Possession of Paraphernalia - C Misdemeanor

Krystina A. Morris, 29, of Cambridge City:

  • Dealing Methamphetamine - Level 2 Felony

  • Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 3 Felony

  • Dealing a Narcotic Drug - Level 3 Felony

  • Possession of a Narcotic Drug - Level 5 Felony

  • Unlawful Possession of a Syringe - Level 6 Felony

  • Possession of Paraphernalia - C Misdemeanor
