Meth Found On Indiana Woman Driving Through Homewood: Cops

The latest arrests from the Homewood Police Department include an 18-year-old accused of resisting police.

The following information is from the Homewood Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Resisting Police

Tristan Kalas, 18, Mokena was stopped in the 17900 block of Gottschalk Avenue at 7:21 p.m. on Jan. 9 and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer. Kalas had in his possession approximately 15 grams of suspect cannabis. Kalas also had in his possession five pills, suspect Xanax, without the required prescription. As officers placed Kalas in custody, he refused to comply with the officer’s verbal directions and pulled away as he was placed in handcuffs.

Theft

Steven Krauss, 49, of the 1600 Block of Cedar Road was charged with theft at his residence at 1 a.m. on Jan. 9. Krauss took possession of currency and a debit card without the permission
of the owner.

Possession Of Controlled Substance

Anita Miller, 54, Brazil, Indiana was stopped in the 1100 block of Elder Road at 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 8 and charged with improper lighting, one headlamp, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. Miller had in her possession approximately 2.2 grams of suspect methamphetamine and approximately one gram of suspect cocaine.

Tony Willis, 50, of the 2200 Block of Heather Road was stopped in the 18000 block of Harwood Avenue at 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 and charged with possession of controlled substances, no rear registration light, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid driver's license. Willis had in his possession a pill like substance which field tested positive for a substance containing methamphetamine.

Retail Theft

Steven Dunlap, 54, Chicago Heights was charged with retail theft at 8:25 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Jewel, 3153 W. 183rd St. Dunlap concealed items and passed the final point of purchase without making payment for the merchandise which had a total retail value of $95.97.
