Metra service restored, some delays remain

CHICAGO — Metra trains are back up and running after they were halted and delayed Monday.

Earlier Metra reported that a “positive train control system outage” was causing issues to several lines including Union Pacific North, Milwaukee District North, Union Pacific Northwest, Milwaukee District West, Southwest, Rock Island and Metra Electric.

As of 2:30 p.m. Metra’s website said movement had been restored.

“Although working through some residual delays from earlier system problems, Metra does anticipate running on-time throughout this evening’s rush,” the website said.
