Metro Atlanta educators, schools awarded $40,000 in McDonald’s Golden Grants
Some metro Atlanta schools are “loving it” after becoming recipients of the McDonald’s Golden Grant.

On Tuesday, McDonald’s owners and operators announced that $40,000 in grants will be given to various teachers for helping to impact thousands of students’ lives.
The recipients were selected based on creativity, innovation, need and hands-on application of projects in Georgia.

The winners are:
● $20,000 — Macedonia Elementary School, Chromebooks for Curriculum
● $10,000 — Clarkdale Elementary School, Afterschool Science Olympiad Program
● $1,000 — Lilburn Middle School, Artistic Advantage Program
● $1,000 — Five Forks Middle School, Science Enrichment Class
● $1,000 — Suwanee Elementary School, Teach Me with Technology
● $1,000 — Glenn C. Jones Middle School, Robotics Team
● $1,000 — Free Home Elementary School, Let It Fly Program
● $1,000 — Campbell Middle School, Technology Student Association Campbell Middle School Chapter
● $1,000 — Independence High School, Mentorship Program
● $1,000 — Yeager Middle School, Calming Sensory Room Diet
● $1,000 — Factory Shoals Middle School, AG Culture Club Expansion
● $1,000 — Rocky Plains Elementary School, PINK Ladies Mentorship Program

“We recognize the importance of education and contributing to communities throughout Greater Atlanta. It is truly an honor and a privilege to see how each school will use the funds to change the lives of their students,” said Jeffrey Heidrick, a McDonald’s owner and operator.
Arts and crafts programs, education initiatives, mentorship and empowerment programs, after-school programs, community service outreach, sporting programs, technology and COVID-19 relief efforts were all activities that qualified schools for a Golden Grant.
