Metro Atlanta woman publishes children’s book on her 108th birthday
Metro Atlanta’s newest published author celebrated the release of her book Wednesday on her 108th birthday.

“Happy birthday to you!”
They sang it loud, Peggy Cobb told Channel 2’s Berndt Petersen.
Cobb celebrated her new career on her 108th birthday.
“I’m just beyond words. This is happiness,” Cobb said.
Cobb has authored and illustrated a children’s book.
“It tells its own little story,” Cobb said.

A story she first read to her children 70 years ago.
“Some of my favorite books were “The Little Engine That Could”, “The Runaway Pancake”, and this one,” Peggy’s son Peter Cobb said.
It’s called “Painter Pan: The Rainbow Man.” A story about a little elf who helped a little girl paint a picture.
“He says to the little girl, whenever you see a rainbow, just wave and I’ll wave back at you. To this day, there are people in my family—when they see a rainbow—they wave,” Peggy’s son Bill Cobb said.

She signed the books for her adoring public at her home at the Hammond Glen Retirement Community in Sandy Springs. She says she has never been one of those people of few words.
“My younger brother used to say to me, just shut up. Ha, ha! Shut up!”
So she did a little writing too, and the book she started during the 1940′s is in a bookstore near you today.
“I’m enjoying this! You can tell,” Peggy Cobb said.
“Painter Pan” is on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and The Little Shop of Stories in Decatur.
