These metro-east educators were honored with annual award for excellence

Twenty five metro-east educators were honored with a regional award Monday.

Emerson, a St. Louis-based technology and software company, has been honoring teachers in the metro area annually with its “Excellence in Teaching Awards” since 1989. The program recognizes educators for their accomplishments and dedication to students and their profession.

Award winners are selected by the chief administrators of their schools, colleges or universities.

“Dedicated and passionate teachers have a profound, long-lasting impact on their students,” Vice President of Diversity and Social Responsibility Akberet Boykin Farr said in a press release.

“Their unwavering commitment to ignite students’ passion for learning and empower them to overcome challenges in and out of the classroom is commendable. For those reasons and many others, we are excited and privileged to recognize 99 teachers as this year’s Excellence in Teaching Awards honorees. Congratulations to all our honorees on this much-deserved recognition.”
