MetroLink says a man trespassing on its tracks was struck by a train near Belleville
A man was struck by a commuter train Friday afternoon when he was trespassing on the tracks near Belleville, according to a news release from MetroLink.
The accident did not happen near a designated crossing, the release states.
The man was “alert when transported by EMS” to a local hospital, according to the release. No other information was available about his condition.
Trains are now operating between the Belleville and Fairview Heights stations, though there could be short delays for some passengers.
