Reds first baseman Joey Votto drew rave reviews for his conversation with Fox play-by-play announcer Joe Davis and analyst John Smoltz during Thursday's MLB at Field of Dreams Game, just as he did when he was miked up on ESPN2 for Cincinnati's season-opener against the Braves in Atlanta.

New York Mets radio play-by-play announcer Howie Rose was so impressed with Votto's effort that Rose suggested Votto "would seem to have a big future in broadcasting" after his playing career, if he so chooses.

From Rose via Twitter:

"I'm out here at first base in the middle of a Major League game, and I've got nothing to do right now. So I'm going to tell a little story," Votto said, before sharing a story about Smoltz.
