New Mexico State hires Scotty Ohara as offensive analyst
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KTSM) – New Mexico State football added a couple of more pieces to its coaching staff ahead of the first year of the Tony Sanchez era in Las Cruces.
On Monday, New Mexico State announced that Scotty Ohara would be the football team’s new offensive analyst. Ohara joins New Mexico State after spending the last six seasons in El Paso part of the UTEP football coaching staff. Ohara was UTEP’s wide receiver coach from 2018 to 2022. In March of 2023, UTEP promoted Ohara to offensive coordinator for the season.

In 2023, UTEP went 3-9 on the season and 2-6 in Conference USA play. UTEP head coach Dana Dimel was fired after the conclusion of the 2023 season, his fifth losing season in six years as UTEP’s head football coach.
NMSU also announced the addition of Shaun Wick as an offensive analyst. NMSU announced that Tim Wilkinson is the team’s new defensive analyst. Nelson Fishback will now be the team’s tight ends coach and special team’s coordinator.
