Meyer, Damman leads Baxter golfers in pair of triangulars

Apr. 17—IOWA FALLS — Abbie Meyer, Calleah Wall, Leah Shanks and Cody Damman all finished in the top 10 during a road triangular hosted by Iowa Falls-Alden on Tuesday.

The Baxter girls finished second with a 270 at Meadow Hills Golf Course and the boys ended up third with a 268 at Highland Golf Club.

Host Iowa Falls-Alden won both meet championships. The Cadet girls shot a 201 and the boys fired a 182.

Colo-NESCO's boys were second with a 188 and the girls did not have enough golfers for a team score.

Meyer finished sixth with a 60 and Wall and Shanks tied for ninth with a 67. That was a career-best for Shanks.

The final counting score was the 76 from Jesse Zeimen. Hannah Huffaker shot a non-counting 77.

Iowa Falls-Alden's Olivia French (43) and Brooke Regan (48) were the medalist and runner-up medalist, respectively.

Austin Hennick of Colo-NESCO was the boys' medalist with a 37. IF-A's Colton England shot a 44 as the runner-up medalist.

Damman finished 10th overall with a 53 and Hudson Bethards (65), Stadan Vansice (74) and Jake Travis (80) completed the Bolts' lineup.

Baxter girls finish third at BCLUW

UNION — Meyer shot a 58, Karlee Koehler and Wall each carded season-best scores and Zeimen and Huffaker added career-bests during the Baxter girls' golf team's road triangular at South Hardin Recreation Center on Thursday.

The Bolts finished third in the three-team field. BCLUW shot a 205 to win and North Tama carded a 236 in second. Baxter had a 250 in third.

Meyer led the way with a 58 and Koehler's season-best 60 was next. Wall finished with a season-best 63 and Zeimen tallied a career-best 69 as the final counting scorer.

Shanks (73) and Huffaker (career-best 73) had non-counting scores.

Baxter boys can't register team score at BLCUW

CONRAD — Damman and Vansice both shot lower than 60 during the Bolts' road triangular at Oakwood Golf Course on Thursday, but the Baxter boys' golf team did not have enough golfers for a team score.

BCLUW won the meet championship with a 181, while North Tama had a 198 in second.

Damman shot a 55 to lead the Bolts, while Vansice carded a 58. Bethards also competed and shot a 62.

BCLUW's Mason Martin was the meet medalist with a 42 and his teammate, Lincoln Stover, was the runner-up medalist with a 45.
