MHSAA classifications announced for 2023-26 high school sports seasons, Class 7A added
The Mississippi High School Activities Association announced its latest reclassifications for athletics starting in the 2023-24 school year and ending in 2025-26.
The MHSAA executive committee voted 13-1 in April to add a seventh classification for the upcoming school year.
MHSAA reclassified schools based on student population in October. The 24 schools with the highest enrollments will be included in Class 7A, followed by the next 24 schools in 6A and 5A, respectively. Classifications 4A through 2A will include the next 40 schools with the highest enrollments. All remaining schools will compete in Class 1A.
