MHSFCA releases preseason coaches poll

Belleville comes in at No. 1 in Division 1 in the first Michigan High School Football Coaches Association preseason coaches’ poll.

The MHSFCA coaches will vote all season on a weekly poll.

“We wanted to give all of our coaches a voice,” said MHSFCA Executive Director Andrew Pratley. “We really wanted to model it after the NCAA coaches poll model, ensuring all schools, no matter where they are in the state, are included.”

Coaches will be polled in every division, including both 8-Player divisions, every week and poll results posted on MHSFCA.com.

In addition to Belleville in Division 1, the preseason poll has Warren De LaSalle Collegiate in the top spot in Division 2, Detroit Martin Luther King in D3, Chelsea in D4, Grand Rapids Catholic Central in D5, Lansing Catholic Central in D6, Pewamo-Westphalia in D7 and Ubly in D8.

The 8-player No. 1 teams are Adrian Lenawee Christian in Division 1 and Powers North Central in Division 2.

The MHSFCA has been devoted to the promotion of high school football since its inception in March of 1972.
