MI Art Fest, a new event, slated for Friday in downtown Sturgis

A new festival is coming to downtown Sturgis.

"MI Art Fest" is planned for 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, July 15.

Sturgis Downtown Development Authority event coordinator Ryan Conrod said the new event offers something unique to Sturgis. Downtown already is involved with "Art Around Town," so why not expand, he said.

MI Art Fest offers much to choose from, Conrod said. Aspects include:

  • Art demonstrations

  • Color Walk

  • Make & take

  • Public art display

  • Art vendors

  • Classic car cruise-in

  • Face painting

  • MI Love Locks

  • Art Around Town tours

  • Food truck vendors

  • Movies on North (showing “A League of Their Own”)

  • MI Art Shack

  • Live juggler

  • Art classes

  • Trolley car rides

  • Sidewalk chalk art & watercolor crayon painting

  • Live acoustic musicians

  • Kids bounce house

  • Sturgis Rocks rock painting

  • Sturgis District Library activities

  • Sturgis Biscuits booth (selling the “official” Sturgis biscuits)

  • Information booth on North Street
