The five softball state finals will be played over two days -- Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 -- at Sortino Field on the campus of UMass-Amherst. The rain date is Sunday, June 19.

Martha Jameson, MIAA Softball Committee Chair and Athletic Director at Silver Lake Regional High School, said in a statement: “Sortino Field is truly the home of Massachusetts softball. Named for an NCAA Hall of Fame coach, the program boasts 23 Atlantic 10 Championships, 21 NCAA appearances, three College World Series teams (‘92, ‘98, ‘99), numerous All-Americans, and the program’s only National Player of the Year and Olympic gold medalist, in current head coach Danielle Henderson. As a player on the first two Atlantic 10 championship teams in the early 1980s, I am most grateful to have been a small part of something so special due to the hard work and tireless advocacy by my coach, the late great Elaine Sortino."
