Miami Dolphins Food Relief Program has made a surreal impact

Late in the month of May last year, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins Foundation announced the formation of the Miami Dolphins Food Relief Program — an initiative designed to provide the South Florida community with 1,000 meals per day starting on June 1, 2020. And now, nearly a full year later, the total impact of the program has been revealed.

And it is surreal to see the sheer volume of impact this program has created.

According to a graphic released by the Miami Dolphins Foundation’s community relations on social media, the Miami Dolphins Food Relief Program has provided locals with nearly 700,000 pounds of food since June 1st of last year. In addition, the efforts have provided over $1.5M in financial support to minority owned small business in the community.

Efforts like this one from the Miami Dolphins organization are a big part of the reason why the Dolphins are considered one of the gold-standard teams off the field with their charitable efforts and community outreach programs across the NFL. And with nearly three weeks left in the month of May, the Miami Dolphins Food Relief Program’s full 12-month impact is going to be even more impressive than the figures that you see above.
