Miami Dolphins inactives for Week 3 versus Raiders

The Miami Dolphins are looking to keep their lofty aspirations for the 2021 season alive. The last week has been filled with plenty of external pessimism around the team — and now comes the time to change the narrative for Miami. Easier said than done? Absolutely. But Miami is going to take the field this afternoon against the Raiders and will have nearly everyone (besides starting nose tackle Raekwon Davis and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who are both on Injured Reserve) at their disposal.

Here are the Miami Dolphins’ Week 3 inactives for against the Las Vegas Raiders.

There’s some surprise to see that the Dolphins elected to deactivate both of wide receivers Albert Wilson and Preston Williams — but this decision is presumably made with two factors in mind: the Dolphins now have all five of their tight ends active after leaving rookie TE Hunter Long inactive in Week 2, plus the return (and season debut) of wide receiver Will Fuller.

Miami is presumably going to undertake a more traditional offense under the guidance of Jacoby Brissett — which will likely require the help of their tight ends to help chip and slow down a talented (but smaller) pass rush duo of Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby.
