For both the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers, a certain quarterback seems to make the difference.

For the Dolphins (4-7), having Tua Tagovailoa out there has given them a road to victory, as he's been out there for all four wins, including Miami's current three-game winning streak. Tagovailoa looked especially strong last week, throwing for 273 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 win over the New York Jets.

As for the Panthers, though they lost to Washington 27-21, having Cam Newton back under center seemed to set them on the right path. Paired with a healthy Christian McCaffrey, Newton looked like the Panthers' dual-threat weapon of years past, and Carolina looked much less lost than when others — Sam Darnold, P.J. Walker — were at quarterback.

Here's how the experts see Sunday's game.

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Panthers, 23-20

Cam Newton has fit well into the Panthers' offense playing off Christian McCaffrey. The Dolphins will have no answers for them running CMC often and facilitating Newton again in the red zone. Tua Tagovailoa will keep playing OK but he will get less support from his rushing attack and defense.

Connor Rogers, Bleacher Report: Panthers, 24-20

The Dolphins are coming off a road win against the Jets, but their offense still has major question marks. The pass protection is a disaster and the run game isn't consistent enough. This won't be easy sailing for the Panthers offense, but their defense should dominate.

Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: Panthers, 27-21

The looked like a winnable game for Miami, until the Panthers brought back Cam Newton.

Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Dolphins, 21-13

The Dolphins have won three in a row and allowed just 36 points during that streak. The Panthers are back to relying on Cam Newton, which looked like a good thing after his performance last week against Washington. But they will eventually discover why they moved on without him.

Gregg Rosenthal, NFL.com: Panthers, 23-20

Call me old-fashioned, but the reality that the Dolphins have been outscored by 68 points this season matters more than their three-game winning streak. Tua Tagovailoa does a nice job making his offensive line look better than it is with quick throws, but Miami doesn't have the running game to hurt the Panthers' biggest weakness on defense. Cam Newton played well enough to win last week, and Christian McCaffrey looks ready to break some big runs.

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Dolphins, 22-20

Cam Newton vs. Tua Tagovailoa the day after the Iron Bowl? That's a fortuitous break for the schedule makers. Newton's return has made headlines, but Miami's defense has allowed just 12 points per game through three straight victories. At home, that translates to a fourth straight win.

Michael David Smith, Pro Football Talk: Panthers, 24-14

Cam Newton should be able to withstand the Dolphins’ blitzes well enough to put points on the board, while Tua Tagovailao struggles against the Panthers’ defense.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Panthers, 23-17

The Dolphins have righted things the past three weeks against some bad teams to keep their playoff hopes alive. Carolina had a bad loss to Washington last week. The Carolina defense let down in that game, but I think they will get back to playing their style here and limit Tua Tagovailoa. The Panthers win it.
