Miami Heat basketball player Udonis Haslem joined County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on Wednesday, June 30, at the site of the condo building collapse in Surfside, Florida, where at least 16 people were killed and 147 were unaccounted for.

Footage shared on the mayor’s Instagram shows Haslem hanging a flower arrangement and writing a message on a chain-link fence serving as a memorial at the site of the catastrophe.

“Devastating to see what happened in Surfside,” Haslem wrote on Twitter on June 25. “My family and I are sending our thoughts and prayers to all the individuals and families that have been impacted by this tragic incident.”

Cava said on Wednesday morning that four additional bodies had been recovered overnight, bringing the total fatality count to 16. The mayor said 147 were still unaccounted for, but the numbers were “fluid and likely to change.” Credit: Mayor Daniella Levine Cava via Storyful
