During the Eastern Conference Finals, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler and “Hips Don’t Lie” singer Shakira started following each other on social media platform, Instagram.

Roughly six weeks later, Us Weekly reported the pair have gone on a few dates, but are taking things slow.

“Jimmy makes Shakira smile, and she feels happy spending time with him,” Us Weekly reported.

Shakira, 46, has two children from 36-year-old previous partner Gerard Pique. The former FC Barcelona teammate of Lionel Messi and the Colombian singer’s split made headlines

The two threw barbs at each other in different mediums following Pique’s reportedly leaving Shakira for model Clara Chia Marti. Shakira dissed Pique on her first single of 2023, “BZRP Music Session #53.”

“I’m worth two of 22 [year old],” Shakira sings in the song. “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”

Following the song dropping, Pique appeared in a live video for the Kings League, a seven-a-side soccer league he started in 2022, and flashed a Casio watch on his wrist as a response to the diss track’s line.

About two months ago, Pique made his relationship with the 24-year-old Marti official on Instagram.

The Us Weekly report involving her dating status with Butler, 33, were sparked after the two were spotted having dinner last week in London, England.

Jimmy Buckets led the Heat to the NBA Finals, where it fell to the Nuggets in five games. It was the second time in four seasons the Heat advanced to the NBA Finals.

Butler also helped the Heat play for for the title in 2020 at the Disney Bubble, which the global COVID-19 pandemic necessitated.

Prior to the London date, Shakira was spotted in Miami multiple times — with an appearance at one of the Heat’s playoff games against the Celtics and the Miami Formula One race where she was hanging out with Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise.

“They have been out a few times, but things are very new and it’s too early to tell if there’s long-term potential there,” Us Weekly reported.
