Miami Hurricanes back in the AP Top 25 poll after big victory against SEC’s Texas A&M

Two games into the 2023 season, the Miami Hurricanes have entered the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since the week of Sept. 18, 2022.

After an ultimately dominant performance in defeating the then-No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies 48-33 on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium, the Hurricanes (2-0) were rewarded with a No. 22 AP ranking on Sunday.

The USA Today LBM Coaches poll on Sunday ranked Miami No. 23.

The Aggies (1-1) fell out of the Top 25 in both polls.

Before Sunday, the last time Miami was ranked in the AP poll, they had dropped 12 spots on Sept. 18, 2022 to No. 25 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll after losing to Texas A&M on Sept. 17, 2022 on the road.

They then lost six of their last nine games.

Miami, which Saturday overcame a 10-point deficit to defeat the Aggies, faces the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hard Rock Stadium. The Wildcats beat Savannah State 31-6 on Saturday.
