Miami Man Jailed For Attacking Miami-Dade Fire Engine With Baseball Bat

Police identified the man as 30-year-old Jesus Santana Jardines.

- Also new at 5:00, this is the damage done to a Miami-Dade fire rescue truck after officials say a man with a bat hit it. Police arrested 30-year-old Jesus Santana Jardines. Police say it happened on Southwest 42nd Avenue and 8th Street in Miami. The assistant fire chief says the truck was coming back from a call and was stopped at a red light. That's when the man approached the truck and hit the window.

RAY JADALLAH: We are fortunate that these incidents even though that Miami-Dade fire rescue response to well over 250,000 calls a year was an isolated incident.

- Nobody was hurt, but it will cost about $4,000 to fix the window.
