The Miami University RedHawks are among teams scheduled to play in the Indiana Hoosiers' multi-team event in men's college basketball, according to a report Sunday via Twitter from Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

The Little Rock Trojans and Jackson State Tigers also are part of the tournament field, per Goodman.

Travis Steele, named the RedHawks' new head coach in March after four seasons as the Xavier Musketeers' head coach, was an IU assistant from 2006 to 2008. He's from Danville, Indiana - about 50 miles from Bloomington.

MU is 1-13 in 14 games against IU since 1958. Miami last played the Hoosiers in Dec. 1994, falling 92-77 in Bloomington. The RedHawks upset No. 19 IU, 63-57, in Nov. 1983.

MU defeated Jackson State, 64-53, in Dec. 2015 in the only meeting between the two teams. The RedHawks haven't faced Little Rock.

The RedHawks finished last season with a 14-18 record, 8-12 in the Mid-American Conference.

The Hoosiers are scheduled to visit the Kansas Jayhawks, the defending national champions, on Dec. 17. And CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported last month that the Hoosiers and Arizona were finalizing an agreement to play Dec. 10 in Las Vegas.

Goodman also reported Sunday that the NKU Norse will be among an eight-team field at the Gulf Coast Showcase in November. NKU lost to IU in Bloomington last December. MU won two games in the Gulf Coast Showcase in 2019 before falling to Wright State in the third-place game.
