OddsChecker: Take Indiana to cover against Miami

It writes: "The pick here is Indiana though. Their defense is strong enough that Miami shouldn’t explode offensively, and they pair that with a star who can and has won them close games all year. Until someone can stop Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana is going to be one of the toughest outs in the tournament for this very reason."

Winners and Whiners: Go with Miami on the moneyline vs. Indiana

Michael Briggs writes: "Miami didn't play its best on Friday, but it didn't need to. The Hurricanes boast several scoring options and can make up for poor shooting nights with their ability to get to the foul line and convert (12th-highest FT% in the NCAA). They have the tough-minded mentality you like to see in tournament games, a character trait the Hoosiers fail to match consistently. I believe the Canes will hit more field goals than they did versus the Bulldogs and will outmuscle the Hoosiers in the post, earning extra possessions and free throws that will put Indiana in a tough spot."

Sports Illustrated: Bet Miami with the points against Indiana

Mark Lammey writes: "Although Miami started poorly against Drake, it was clearly a wake-up call for them, as they outpaced them 38-26 in the second half. That was primarily due to the performance of Miami’s center, Norchad Omier. He dominated on the glass, pulling down 14 rebounds. Meanwhile Nijel Pack led the team in scoring with 21 points. It’s going to be a tough battle between Miami’s Omier and Indiana’s Jackson-Davis, but we like how Miami responded yesterday."

Sports Chat Place: Indiana will cover vs. Miami

Randy Chambers writes: "Again, the Miami Hurricanes have the guards, experience, and coach to beat anybody in this tournament. However, Miami has issues with turnovers and would have lost its first round matchup if Drake didn’t completely throw up on itself in the final 5 minutes. The Indiana Hoosiers are coming off a complete showing against Kent State and has the offense to give Miami issues. Indiana wins in the favorite role by an average of 11.5 points. I’d need more to consider the Canes. Small chalk, give me Indiana."
