Monday at 3 p.m. was the deadline for teams to sign players that had been franchise-tagged to long-term deals and three notable running backs were not given new contracts.

Dallas Cowboy Tony Pollard, Oakland Raider Josh Jacobs and New York Giant Saquon Barkley. Jacobs led the NFL in rushing yards last season while Pollard and Barkley were two of their team’s most crucial offensive weapons.

Star NFL running backs from across the league let their unhappiness with the state of running back contracts be known.

Ex-Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant agreed sharing a graphic that showed the average kicker vs running back salary.

Micah Parsons responded to Bryant’s picture and others who were critical saying they didn’t acknowledge the full picture.

Parsons also said the Barkley, and not his teammate Tony Pollard, had the best case for a long-term contract.

Parsons went on to tweet three more times further explaining his point that NFL teams pay players based on position and longevity which disadvantages running backs but pointed out that elite players deserved to be paid.
