Michael Bublé's wife denies abuse rumours after singer elbows her in new video

Michael Bublé’s wife Luisana Lopilato is defending their marriage after a new video caused many fans to suggest the singer is physically abusive.

Earlier this week the couple, who have been married since 2011, appeared together to host an Instagram Live segment. The 44-year-old “Home” singer drew criticism and ignited controversy after he elbowed the Argentinian actress after she spoke over him. Lopilato apologized to Bublé, who then pulled her closer to him and put his arms around her shoulder.

The exchange prompted Lopilato’s fans to take to social media to express their concern that Bublé had been “abusive” to the 32-year-old mother-of-three.

“Thanks to Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato going live pretty often on [Instagram], we have discovered he’s actually pretty toxic and kind of violent,” one woman Tweeted.

“I feel worried that your wife and children are at home with you,” another tweeted directly to Bublé. “Though it is necessary, staying at home is the perfect environment for already present domestic violence/abuse to thrive.”

The comments across the actress’s social media platforms caused her to issue a statement in Spanish to her more than 4.7 million Instagram followers.

“It's incredible how some people are!” Lopilato wrote, according to a translation from Hola!

“While we are in the middle of a pandemic, and living our lives under quarantine, angst, fear, loneliness, and uncertainty of all kinds! [I] come out every day with my husband to try to do [Instagram] lives to bring some happiness, entertainment, longing, and we have to put up with, hear and see what people with ill intentions are posting without knowing anything about our family,” she continued. “After all the pain that we have experienced, I want you all to know that I have no doubts about who my husband is and that I would chose him again a thousand times over!"

Lopilato’s post caused some of her followers to double down on their belief that Bublé’s behaviour was disrespectful. Fans began referencing other moments during the couple’s frequent Instagram Lives where Bublé showed what they believe to be concerning behaviour.

On March 23, when Lopilato was late to join Bublé for a live stream, the Canadian crooner told the camera, “Honestly, I can't wait till you get to see the divorce on this. Cause honestly, I'm telling you right now, if you think this is an act, it's not an act. My God." When Lopilato arrived he told her quietly, “You’re so dead.”

In a separate video, when the pair signed off from their livestream, Bublé is heard telling his wife, “I’m going to kill you,” as she moves towards the camera to stop recording.

“The girl who uploaded the thread [of videos] saw what you don't see, as it usually happens. It wasn't just one video, there are many and the abuse is in plain sight, nobody is making it up,” a follower wrote to Lopilato on Instagram. “You do not see it and it is understandable (we assume), but it's not fair to say that she did it with a bad intention because she only tried to show MB's violence towards you. Many women suffer violence and these acts are signs that this could just be the beginning of something worse.”

The couple share three children together, six-year-old son Noah, four-year-old son Elias and one-year-old daughter Vida.

Bublé has yet to comment on allegations at the time of publication.
