Michael Jackson's Son Prince Opens Up Life Lessons Taught To Him By His Famous Dad
Michael Jackson's son Prince has opened up about advice his father gave him about navigating life, and the key elements about how to treat people with compassion and humility.
Prince, who was featured as a keynote speaker for a Los Angeles summit for the Family Office Associaton, spoke openly about subjects that came up often at home with his father.

In a video of the discussion, Prince begins by explaining he is asked by fans of MJ about how different it must have been growing up with the King of Pop as a father.
"To me, he was my father first and foremost, " Prince explained.
He continued, "I did a lot of reflection about the words that consisting came up and the first one that came to mind was compassion."
He explained several things that resonated in his life and how MJ had compassion for the less fortunate because he came from very humble beginnings in Gary, Indiana.
MJ grew up in a small home with a very big family and understood it was like to struggle he explained to the crowd.
"He understood what it was like to struggle and what it was like to be prosperous," Prince said of his dad.
"First never forget to have compassion for the less fortunate," he said.
Prince told the attendees of the conference his father reminded him and his siblings about knowing you might not understand how it feels to live the way others live. But, it is important to keep educating yourself about other cultures and ways of life. Plus, even if you are successful or wealthy it doesn't give you the right to treat others poorly.
"You treat the janitor the same way you treat the CEO," he said.

The host of the event posted a message on social media, saying, "Today, I had the distinct honor of having a ‘fireside chat’ with Prince Jackson during the Intergen Family Initiative at FOA in LA. We discussed his upbringing, his father’s wisdom, and legacy, philanthropy, his love of motorcycles...youth activists, the ecological crisis and more.
He gave high praise to the young man saying Prince, "is one of the most articulate, thoughtful, engaging, humble, and compassionate people I’ve ever met. I’m inspired by what he and his co-founder John Muto are doing for youth they serve through the Heal Los Angeles Foundation."
After the event, Prince posted video of the discussion was a caption quoting his famous father's lyrics..."Together we can all #healtheworld and #makeitabetterplace but first we must start with #themaninthemirror (or woman)to #makethatchange."
