Michael Jordan will induct Kobe Bryant into the basketball Hall of Fame next month.

Jordan, a six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls, was close friends with Bryant up until the LA Lakers legend’s death in a helicopter crash in January 2020.

Bryant died at the age of 41 alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other passengers when their helicopter crashed in California.

Bryant won five NBA titles with the Lakers, with whom he retired in 2016.

The 2020 Naismith Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on 15 May, and American Bryant will be inducted by compatriot Jordan, who himself holds a place in the Hall of Fame.
