Michael Kors gathered his fashion friends and family on Tuesday evening at the annual God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards. The 12th year of the awards was brought to fruition by honorary chairman Anna Wintour (who Kors calls “the greatest neighbor New Yorkers could have”) and cochairs Aerin Lauder, Jordan Roth, John Idol, and Blaine Trump.

The New York–based charity is the city’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Friends of Kors, including Donna Karan and Iman, spoke to the organization’s immense outreach. “What he has done for God’s Love is remarkable,” Iman, wearing a crystal-embroidered Michael Kors dress, shared. “When we gather our collective strength, we can do something so unique.”

Kors told Vogue that the Golden Heart Awards always remind him of the industry’s generosity. “Sometimes I think people think that fashion and show business are full of people who are jaded and self-absorbed, but I think that this night always proves to me that that’s not the case at all. People really do care about the community at large, and they care about their neighbors.”

The evening began with cocktails as guests arrived at Spring Studios. Once seated for dinner, the memorable introductions (given by Amber Ruffin and Nathan Lane) and awards began. Jamie Niven was acknowledged with the Outstanding Volunteerism award, and Tony Kushner brought home the Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement. Hugh Jackman was honored with the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service and treated guests to a song, a suggestion, he says, from Wintour.

The evening concluded with an auction filled with food-centric experiences: a dinner at Rao’s, a meal with Ina Garten in her East Hampton home, and a personalized dinner from Gramercy Tavern’s chef, Michael Anthony, complete with Neil Patrick Harris serving as bartender.

Attendees included Priyanka Chopra, Naomi Watts, and Ashley Graham, all in Kors. Vogue’s Tabitha Simmons, Tonne Goodman, and Nicole Phelps were also in attendance.
