Michael Madsen was ordered by a judge on Monday morning to attend AA meetings while he is out on bail for his DUI case stemming from a car accident earlier this year.

An attorney for the “Kill Bill” star was in court for star’s arraignment but it was postponed until next month. The judge ordered Madsen to attend AA meetings twice a week until the next hearing.

Madsen’s attorney, Perry Wander, tells The Blast, “My client is taking this incident very seriously and he looks forward to getting back on the set of his new film.”

As The Blast previously reported, Madsen was charged with misdemeanor DUI after he crashed his car into a pole back in March.

Since Madsen already has one DUI on his record, he was charged with one count each of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol within 10 years of another DUI offense and driving with a .08% blood alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Michael Madsen was involved in a single car accident on March 24 in Malibu at around 8:00 PM. When officers arrived on the scene, Madsen showed signs of impairment, so he was arrested.

Madsen’s attorney told The Blast at the time of the arrest, “We are waiting for the blood report but we suspect that his accident was caused by side effects to medication that he was taking under a doctor’s care.”
