Michael Sheen shows off new look as he prepares to play Chris Tarrant
We got really excited by the announcement the other day that THAT Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? cough scandal is being turned into a TV drama. What made it even better was the news that Michael Sheen will be playing legendary host Chris Tarrant.
Ahead of filming for the role, the Twilight and Masters of Sex actor has undergone quite the drastic transformation. OK, he's not turned into Marilyn Manson or anything, but has shaved off his beard.
"Back by popular demand," he tweeted. "Sadly the beard didn't make it... #homewardbound."

Fans were quite upset over the disappearance of his characteristic facial fuzz, with one dramatically tweeting: "MICHAEL! WHAT HAS HAPPEN TO YOUR BEARD???"
Another person tweeted a candlelit vigil for the beard and wrote: "just heard about the beard. i'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you. never gone, never forgotten. always in our thoughts."
A third said: "I'm assuming the beard decided to stay behind and follow its dreams of becoming an actor in its own right? Best of luck to it."
"The beard is old fashioned and prefers transatlantic boat crossings," Sheen clarified. "We'll meet back in Wales later."
The three-part miniseries, titled Quiz, is currently in production and will air on ITV.
