Michelle Keegan has admitted her dogs are the loves of her life - so much so that husband Mark Wright wouldn't have even got a first date if he couldn't get along with them.
The former Our Girl and Coronation Street star, 33, is proud owner to dachshund Phoebe and chihuahua Pip.
She married husband Wright, 34, in 2015, and luckily he is a dog lover, too.
Keegan told The Mirror: “I am a massive dog lover. My sausage dog has been with me since I was 21.
“Until you get your own dog you don’t realise how much love you have for your pets.
“Mark is a dog person, massively. He had to be to even go on a date with me. The most important things in my life are my dogs.”
The couple will have been happily married for six years this year, but have complained that they are constantly asked about when they will have children.
Keegan recently said: “I get asked about children whereas Mark wouldn't for example.
"'Why haven't I had a child? When am I going to have a child?' I don't know what they want me to say. I don't know what the right or wrong answer is."
Brassic star Keegan also shared that she spent lockdown singing karaoke and completing jigsaw puzzles of dogs.
However, she said that when she had finally been able to return to filming Brassic, the shoot had been a difficult one because of freezing temperatures.
She and her co-stars had to film a night out in the snow in February which involved putting on thermals over their dresses between takes.
Keegan said that the experience had left her "contemplating why I chose to become an actor", but will be back for the show's next shoot in July.
