The reviews are in: Michelle Obama was a hit.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band weren't bad either Friday, April 28, at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. But Obama joining the band for a spirited rendition of “Glory Days” has just received the presidential stamp of approval.

“How cool is my wife!' said former President Barack Obama at the show, as captured on Michelle's Instagram.

The former first lady, actress Kate Capshaw and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa joined the Boss and the band during the encore.

“Are you ready for a Barcelona house party?” Springsteen asked during the song.

Capshaw, Scialfa and Obama shared a microphone at the front of the stage, and they all had tambourines. Fans who weren't at the show applauded when Obama posted a snippet of the performance Monday, May 1, on her Instagram account.

“Clearly President Obama isn’t the only Obama with rhythm!” said a fan

“Just when I think you could not be anymore cool, I see this,” said another. “I mean which other first lady can pull this off? Yes Mr. President, your wife is very cool…”

“Yasssss Michelle!!! (fire and clapping hand emojis)” exclaimed another fan.

Springsteen, Obamas go way back

Springsteen's relationship with the Obamas goes back to 2008 when he campaigned for Barack Obama. A private performance by Springsteen for the Obamas and staff at the White House in 2017 led to the creation of the hit “Springsteen on Broadway” at the suggestion of the president.

The Boss and Obama later collaborated on the podcast and book, “Renegades: Born in the USA.” The podcast was recorded in Springsteen's Colts Neck home studio in 2021.

In Barcelona, Springsteen and Scialfa were joined for dinner by the Obamas and Capshaw's husband, Steven Spielberg, at the Amar restaurant in the Palace Hotel on April 28. On April 30, a day after the show, the Obamas and Spielberg and Capshaw were spotted sightseeing at the Montserrat Monastery.

Springsteen and the E Street Band rocked the Barcelona stadium again on Sunday, April 30. Tom Hanks was there, and he sang along with the rest of the crowd, according to numerous social media postings.

More than 117,000 fans attended the two Barcelona shows. Up next is Dublin on May 5, 7 and 9. After the European leg, the tour heads back to North America for more stadium and arena shows, starting with Wrigley Field in Chicago on Aug. 9.

Springsteen and the E Street Band return to Jersey for three shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Aug. 30, Sept. 1 and 3.
