A six-city tour is in the works for Michelle Obama who is releasing a new book this fall, “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times.” Sure to be another best seller for the former first lady. The tour will start in Washington D.C. in mid-November and will end in Los Angeles in December. Michelle Obama will stop in Atlanta on December 3rd at the Fox Theater.

Michelle Obama Releases New Book This Fall

“I’m looking forward to making some new connections — and of course, seeing some familiar faces from the last tour,” stated Michelle Obama in a joint statement from her publisher Crown and her tour promoter Live Nation..

“This book means so much to me — it’s a collection of perspectives and practices I’ve used to keep me afloat amid uncertainty. On this tour, I’ll be sharing some personal stories and lessons that have helped me along my path, and I can’t wait to tell you more.”

The tour will kick off November 15th at the Warner Theater in Washington D.C. as it’s the same day the book will be in stores. Then she’s scheduled to speak at The Met in Philadelphia, Fox Theater in Atlanta, the Chicago Theater, San Francisco’s Masonic, and closing out at the Youtube Theater in Los Angeles.

The seating capacities at these venues range between two thousand to seven thousand people. The expectations are much higher than any other book event in recent memory. But still, those venues are smaller than when she released “Becoming” in 2018. Making an appearance at the United Center as it had a capacity of over 15,000 people.

Success Of Her Previous Book “Becoming”

“Becoming”  sold over 10 million copies worldwide and was an instant best seller. This made it one of the most popular books of modern times written by someone who was formerly of the White House.

Obama also plans to have special guest moderators, similar to her tour with “Becoming”. Celebrities such as Oprah, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Sarah Jessica Parker joined Obama on her last tour. As for “The Light We Carry”, moderators will be announced later on. Obama is also setting aside tickets for community members in each of those cities.

Starting Wednesday through September 26th, fans can order their tickets for any of the currently scheduled speaking engagements.
