Michelle Williams is returning to TV in a new drama, it has been reported.
Deadline has announced that the actress will star in and produce Dying for Sex, a new limited series for FX.
Dying for Sex tells the story of a woman who, after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, leaves her husband of 15 years and starts to explore her sexuality, with the help of her best friend.

Based on the popular podcast which narrates a true story, the show is written by Liz Meriwether (The Dropout) and Kim Rosenstock (Only Murders in the Building), making this a much anticipated series.
Dying for Sex has reportedly been in the works for a number of years, with recent progress paused as a result of the Hollywood strikes.
It is unfortunately not yet known when this series will air.
This new show marks Williams’ first TV role since she played Gwen Verdon in Fosse/Verdon back in 2019, a role which earned her an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
More recently, she starred as Mitzi Fabelman in Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film The Fabelmans, a character that was inspired by Spielberg’s own mother.

She received widespread acclaim for this role, and earned Best Actress nominations at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
Williams’ latest project was an unlikely collaboration with Britney Spears, where she narrated the audiobook version of the singer’s memoir The Woman in Me.
In a statement, Spears said: "This book has been a labour of love and all the emotions that come with it.
"Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook. I am grateful to the amazing Michelle for reading the rest of it."
