Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail Buy $10.8 Million Brooklyn Heights Townhouse
Michelle Williams and her fiancé, Thomas Kail, are wasting no time preparing for their growing family. The couple, who revealed just last month that they are engaged and expecting their first child together, recently dropped $10.8 million for a historic townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. According to public records, Kail—a film and theater director who worked with Williams on the FX show Fosse/Verdon—purchased the home through a trust, and the Wall Street Journal reports that it is one of the most expensive sales ever to take place in the neighborhood.
Originally built in the 1820s, the townhouse spans approximately 3,000 square feet, and the WSJ also reports that it was not on the market at the time of the sale. Williams and Kail also purchased a parcel of land located directly behind the home. Not much more information is currently available, but the couple’s new neighbors do include some A-listers, like Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
The Manchester by the Sea actress has long owned homes in Brooklyn. In August 2018, Williams and her then-husband, Phil Elverum, moved into a new apartment together in the borough just one month after their secret wedding ceremony in the Adirondacks.
Back in 2014, she purchased an eight-bedroom Colonial Revival mansion in Prospect Park South for $2.45 million, and even prior to that, she lived in Red Hook and in the Boerum Hill neighborhood with her former partner, the late Heath Ledger, and their daughter, Matilda, who is now 14 years old.
