Michelle Wolf roasts Trump for not showing up to her White House dinner set
It sure does feel like an age since Michelle Wolf roasted Sarah Huckabee Sanders at the White House Correspondents' dinner.
Someone who hasn't forgotten about it is Donald Trump. According to a new report by the New York Times, the president told people that he thought the White House press secretary should have walked out of the dinner like another official, Mercedes Schlapp, had done so.

The report claimed that Huckabee Sanders has been under a more watchful eye since the dinner, as her stock with Trump amid recent incidents had "begun to sink."
If Huckabee Sanders was viewed as weak because she took Wolf's jibes on the chin, the comedian said it was even weaker that Trump didn't show up to the event himself.

In her 20-minute monologue, Wolf vigorously roasted Huckabee Sanders and the Trump administration in a performance that people decried as going too far — even by the people who had booked her to do it. Some of Wolf's jokes targeted Huckabee Sanders' physical appearance.
"Watching a wife and mother be humiliated on national television for her looks is deplorable," MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski wrote on Twitter at the time.
The incident was the tip of the iceberg when it comes to civility in politics.
Following the Trump administration's policy to separate families at the border, Huckabee Sanders and DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen have found it difficult to dine out in peace.
Sanders was asked to leave the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, VA, in an incident that still continues to play out on social media and in Trump's communique.
