Michelle Yeoh to lead all-Asian cast in new Netflix drama series ‘The Brothers Sun’

Michelle Yeoh has been announced as the lead in upcoming Netflix drama series “The Brothers Sun,” featuring an all-Asian cast and team of writers.

The eight-episode series is described as an “action-packed, dark comedic drama, and family soap.” Set in California and Taiwan, the series follows the story of Taipei gangster Charles Sun, who travels to Los Angeles to protect his mother Mama Sun and younger brother Bruce Sun after his father is shot by an unknown assassin.

Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”) plays Mama Sun with Justin Chien (“Two Sides: Unfaithful”) as Charles Sun and Sam Song Li (“Better Call Saul”) as Bruce Sun. Highdee Kuan (“Fear The Night”) and Joon Lee (“Neh”) round out the main cast as Alexis and TK, respectively.

Other recurring roles include Alice Hewkin (“The Crown”) as May/June, Jon Xue Zhang (“Eternals”) as Blood Boots, Jenny Yang (“Busy Tonight with Busy Philipps”) as Xing, Madison Hu (“The Boogeyman”) as Grace and Rodney To (“Easter Sunday”) as Mark.

Brad Falchuk ("American Horror Story”) serves as showrunner and co-creator alongside Bryan Wu. The two are also executive producers for the upcoming production with Mikkel Bondesen and Kevin Tancharoen.
