Michigan basketball's Hunter Dickinson, Caleb Houston earn Big Ten weekly honors

It was a big week for Michigan basketball, and the Big Ten recognized just as much on Monday.

The conference named sophomore center Hunter Dickinson the co-Big Ten Player of the Week and forward Caleb Houstan the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

The Wolverines went 2-0 last week, winning at home over Maryland on Tuesday and on the road over Indiana on Sunday. In those games, Dickinson averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and five assists per game, shooting 19-for-26 (73.1%) from the field and 4 of 6 (66.7%) from the 3-point line.

Dickinson shares the award with Minnesota guard Payton Willis.

Houstan, the former five-star recruit, was named freshman of the week for the first time this season. He averaged 17.5 points and five rebounds per game last week, shooting 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the 3-point line. He scored a career-high 19 points, making five 3s, in Sunday's win in Bloomington, Indiana.
