Michigan celebs react to Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade

After last week's Supreme Court ruling overturned Roe v. Wade, reversing nearly 50 years of precedent supporting an individual's right to an abortion, Michigan celebrities took to Twitter.

"This decision Has plunged me And every other woman in this country into deep despair," she wrote, "Now the Supreme Court has decided that Women’s rights are no longer constitutional rights. In fact we have less rights then a gun."

Michael Moore also voiced his frustration, accompanying his tweet with a photo of Handmaid characters from the popular Hulu series "The Handmaid's Tale."

Moore wrote, "Make no mistake: The Supreme Court — 2/3 men & 2/3 Catholic — today forced its religious zealotry and bigotry upon an entire nation. We are now all told we must adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church and Jerry Falwell. A fertilized egg is a full blown human being! SHAME!"

Detroit born rapper and singer Lizzo tweeted that she will be pledging $500k to organizations Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights following the Supreme Court decision. This amount will be matched by Live Nation taking the total contribution to $1 million.

She wrote, “I’m pledging $500k from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights. Live Nation agreed to match - to make it 1 MILLION dollars.”

Lizzo also added the National Network of Abortion Funds to her website Lizzo Loves You, which she launched to donate to black organizations for Juneteenth.
