Key Michigan races to watch

Races to watch include mayoral contests in Westland and Warren. Two Democratic members of the Michigan House of Representatives are running for mayor. If both Reps. Kevin Coleman, D-Westland, and Lori Stone, D-Warren, were to win, there would be an even split among Democrats and Republicans in the chamber.

Other mayoral races are taking place in Allen Park, Clawson, Eastpointe, Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Flat Rock, Fraser, Gibraltar, Grosse Pointe Park, Inkster, Livonia, Melvindale, Novi, Riverview, Rockwood, Royal Oak and South Lyon.

City council races are also happening in several municipalities.
