Game notes: No. 2-ranked Michigan football will face Max Duggan and Texas Christian. The Wolverines beat the Purdue Boilermakers to claim their second straight Big Ten title and their second berth in the College Football Playoff. TCU won the Big 12 then lost to Kansas State in the conference title game.

Duggan this season was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the Davey O'Brien and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards. He finished second in the Heisman voting after throwing for 3,321 yards, 30 touchdowns and four interceptions and running for 400 yards and six touchdowns.

The winner will take on either Georgia or Ohio State.
