Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer got her first COVID-19 vaccine shot on Tuesday, touting the vaccine as the most effective way to protect people and return the state back to normalcy. (April 6)
GRETCHEN WHITMER: So today, I'm happy to add my name to the 4.7 million shots into arms that have happened, and I'm looking forward to it very much.
Every Michigander has a personal responsibility to do their part-- wearing a mask, washing hands, social distancing, and getting that vaccine.
I feel good. I feel relieved, to be honest.
- All right, way to go.
GRETCHEN WHITMER: I'm glad we're starting the process. Thank you, [INAUDIBLE].
