Michigan prisoner & former Enterprise man pleads guilty to 2020 sex crimes, DA

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A former Enterprise resident has been sentenced after standing before a Coffee County Judge and admitting he sodomized a young girl.

On Thursday, 38-year-old Jeremy Stiven was sentenced to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of sodomy.

Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox tells WDHN that Stiven’s crimes took place in November 2020 and involved a 10-year-old girl.

Due to the nature of the case, Stiven will serve his time in the Alabama Department of Corrections without the chance of an early release.

“It was important to me and our office that our minor victim be protected as much as possible in this process, as well as that this defendant receive a significant punishment for the vile and disgusting conduct he committed,” said DA Tarbox. “Today’s plea agreement accomplishes both goals because our minor child victim will be spared having to testify at trial, and this defendant will be incarcerated for decades to come.”

DA Tarbox says Stiven’s time in the Alabam prison system will have to wait until he is done serving a 15-year sentence in Michigan on unrelated sexual charges.
