Michigan Reports 1,809 New Coronavius Cases Monday
MICHIGAN — More than 136,000 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Michigan as of Monday, according to state health officials.
State health officials on Monday said that 1,809 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Michigan since Saturday, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in Michigan to 136,465.
Meanwhile, officials said seven more people in the state have died from COVID-19, bringing the statewide death total to 6,898.
Michigan added over 1,500 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, while also adding 15 deaths. On Saturday, the state reported that more than 104,000 people Michiganders had recovered from the coronavirus.
Michigan is ranked 19th in the U.S. in reported COVID-19 cases, according to the World Health Organization. Michigan is 10th in the nation in deaths attributed to the coronavirus.
According to the World Health Organization, about 8 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the U.S. The nation has also reported more than 219,000 COVID-19 deaths. More than 5.1 million people in the U.S. have recovered from the virus.
Nearly 37.8 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide as of Monday morning, according to the World Health Organization. More than 1 million deaths have been attributed to COVID-19, while over 28.4 million people worldwide have recovered from the virus.
