Michigan reports 16,590 new COVID-19 cases, 127 deaths over 3 days

The Michigan health department on Monday reported 16,590 new cases of COVID-19 over a three-day period. That's an average of 5,530 cases a day.

The state reported 127 additional deaths, 47 of which were identified during a vital records review conducted three times a week.

Michigan now has a total of 1,353,156 confirmed cases and 24,494 confirmed deaths.

Michigan had a positivity rate of 18.82% Sunday, reporting that 6,160 of 32,730 diagnostic test results returned were positive.

On Monday, the fatality rate among known cases was 1.8%.

The state also reported 181,991 probable cases and 1,745 probable deaths, making up a cumulative total of 1,535,147 cases and 26,239 deaths.
