Michigan reports 25,329 new COVID-19 cases, 137 deaths over 5 days

The Michigan health department reported 25,329 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over a five-day period Monday, an average of 5,066 per day, bringing Michigan to 1,301,593 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Another 137 coronavirus-related deaths have also been reported Monday, 57 of which were identified in a regular vital records review. This increases the state's COVID-19 death toll to 23,732.

Of 35,072 confirmatory tests reported by the health department Sunday, 7,016 yielded positive results, for a positivity rate of 20%.
