Michigan reports 26,309 new COVID-19 cases, 173 deaths over 2 days
The Michigan health department reported 26,309 new COVID-19 cases over a two-day period Friday, an average of 13,155 per day, bringing Michigan to 1,959,371 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
Another 173 coronavirus-related deaths were also reported Friday, 121 of which were identified in a regular vital records review. This increases the state's COVID-19 death toll to 29,778.

Of 51,353 confirmatory tests reported by the health department Thursday, 11,901 yielded positive results for a positivity rate of 23.17%.
Data from the health department include 275,809 probable cases and 2,419 probable deaths, for a total of 2,235,180 cases and 32,197 deaths.
