Michigan reports 8,831 new COVID-19 cases, 113 deaths

The Michigan health department reported 8,831 confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the last week, an average of 1,262 cases per day. There also were 113 new reported deaths over the last week.

Michigan now has a total of 2,938,443 cases and 40,085 deaths due to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, as of Tuesday. This includes both confirmed and probable cases.

Michigan had a test positivity rate of 12.4% on Monday.

On Tuesday, the fatality rate among known cases was 1.4%.
